Gẹlẹdẹ Queens – Founders Edition

Gẹlẹdẹ Queens – Founders Edition

$150.00

Gẹlẹdẹ Queens is an act of reclamation. It reflects my journey back home to reconnect with my Yoruba heritage, and it shares my perspective as a daughter of the diaspora, understanding West African mythology and culture through a lens shaped by migration, return, and spiritual memory.

In this self-published work, I bring together photographs, essays, and research on Yoruba cosmology, matriarchal power, and diasporic storytelling. Every page weaves together image and text to show how the Gẹlẹdẹ masquerade is a space for politics, myth, reverence, and resistance.

The Founders Edition is my most personal offering — only 50 copies exist worldwide. Each is hand-numbered and signed by me, Destinie Adélakun. Bound in an 8x8-inch hardcover and housed in a custom red collector’s box with gold embossed lettering, this edition is designed to be both an artwork and an heirloom.

By pre-ordering this edition, you’re investing in the preservation of cultural heritage and directly supporting my work as an independent artist.
